How to Buy the Best Computer Components

Those individuals who’re computer knowledge consists of pressing the power button, could find purchasing hardware to become somewhat confusing. It will give you an advantage when it comes to haggling for a good price plus shopping for the hardware while using perfect specifications and yes it pays to understand a lot about computers. Shopping for laptop computer part doesn’t end with just knowing the brand name and the particular hardware; you could not understand it, however, you will even need to understand if it is compatible while using rest of the hardware, just what the capacity of your respective hardware is, and what the performance level is of your respective current hardware.

Computers, like many other electronics, have various cables and ports that need to get connected correctly to work. Ports and cables are vital to some computer setup. The type of parts found in the CPU or Central Processing Unit will also determine the kind of parts for the mouse and keyboard, which could either be a round socket or perhaps a USB port as connecting cables.

Additionally, you must determine the ability of each laptop computer hardware. Some will work, some won’t. You can see this in the model. To find some of this data you may use computer magazines, books and also the internet. There are hardware reviews there to read, discussion boards and sale prices. You can learn … Continue reading >>>

Computer Components Inside the CPU

Computer Components Inside the CPU

Talking of the computer components inside the CPU, you would be completely amazed to know that almost one-third of the CPU is empty. It just looks that big. So if you ask me questions like if that is the case then why don’t they make the CPUs smaller in size? I simply won’t have an answer to that. But to be very honest the biggest computer components inside the CPU are the motherboard. Rest nothing is more than six to eight inches in size.

Easier Than You Think To Build A Computer Your Self

If you are planning to build a computer your self at home then it is actually easier than you think. The computer components that you need to get from the market are the CPU cabinet, mainboard, processor, and RAM based on the type of motherboard you are using, hard disk, an optical drive which can be a CD or DVD drive based on your needs. I would suggest you go for a DVD writer as that would help you work with all both CDs and DVDs disks. Initially, floppy drives used to be an inevitable part of the CPU but these days with the usage of the USB based flash drives no one bothers about the floppy drives, and a LAN card for your internet to work. That should complete the basic requirements of a CPU to be up and running in an hour’s time. Other than the requirements of the CPU you would need a monitor, a mouse, a keyboard and some connecting cables which mostly would be provided with the stuff that you buy.

Always Refer to The Manual

Then the next step would be to refer to the manual provided with the motherboard and fix all the parts on the motherboard and place … Continue reading >>>

How I Teach Computer Basics (Part 1: 7 Main Hardware Components)

How I Teach Computer Basics (Part 1: 7 Main Hardware Components)

Hello all,

I like to fix computers, but what I like is teaching others how to understand / repair computers. I try to simplify all kinds of explanations so that even beginners can understand what I teach. Here’s how I teach / explain the seven main computer components:

1) Motherboard

The motherboard is the heart of the computer. Every other part of the computer sits or is connected to the motherboard in a number of ways. The motherboard is a rectangular colored board at the bottom of the case. Motherboards can also be called “main boards”, “system boards”, or “mobos”.

2) CPU

CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the brain of the computer. It runs the software and processes the data that you are working on. The CPU is above the motherboard and is covered by a cooler and a cooling fan.

3) RAM

RAM (Random Access Memory) stores or remembers the software data that you are running. The RAM module (“stick”) is long and thin and looks like a short ruler. Each RAM module is installed in the appropriate slot on the motherboard.

4) Video Card

The video card creates images that appear on the computer monitor. Almost all modern video cards are installed in the AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) slot, or PCI Express (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) slot on the motherboard.

5) Power Supply

The power supply supplies the power needed by the computer. All cables coming from the power supply go directly to the computer components or to the motherboard. The power supply is at the top of the case.

6) Hard Disk Drive

Hard Drive stores all of your information (even when the computer is turned off). When you turn on the computer, software and data are loaded from the Hard Drive into RAM. Hard Drive slides … Continue reading >>>
