A Crucial Verb
It sounds obvious when it’s pointed out to us, but Google is a doing word. It is to find, to search for, to locate. Hey, let me Google that for you. This is in no way a mistake. This tool serves a global purpose and utilizing its mechanics can make a huge difference to businesses across the world, big or small. No matter what you already know about this search engine and its competitors, or indeed what you don’t know, the most important thing is this: This universal verb of the digital age is crucial when it comes to your business, your service and/or your product. Ignore that, and you will fail.
Why is it so important?
Marketing is digital. It’s kind of that simple. In a nutshell, flyers and cold-calling no longer pack the punch of slick, purposefully placed copy that reaches its target audience in a matter of seconds, and brings in those all-important inquiries and sales. We are living life at the touch of a button, and to forget the role that Google plays in all of this is to fall way behind. Even if your start-up is a small French bistro with an exotic bird theme and only has the capacity to hold ten customers at a time, the moment you forget the power … Continue reading >>>

Online shopping is now the king of the hill. There’s nothing that can compete with lounging around and buying something you want or need with just one click before it shows up the very next day. Gracias Amazon!
Social media really has revamped how we shop on the Internet, because you don’t even have to leave a social media platform to do it thanks to brand profiles that have Shop Now buttons. I can be commenting on a new cologne for a friend before seeing ads for it and then buying it in just a handful of clicks. Did I really ever stand a chance?
Would You Ever Shop Online Before Checking Out Reviews?
While ordering things online is very convenient, it’s actually quite horrific when we order something and what we get isn’t quite … Continue reading >>>
The largest and potentially most contentious overhaul of copyright legislation has been passed by the European Parliament. When this legislation comes into action, it will be the largest change to internet regulations since the implementation of GDPR or the General Data Protection Regulation.
The copyright changes that have been passed are best known for the most controversial clauses in them. These are articles 11 and 13 which have created a major battle between the corporate lobbyists, freedom of expression groups and online activities.
What Does The Change Mean For The Internet?
Will You Be Able To Upload Content?
There has been a lot of emphases that the legislation will still allow people to upload content to the internet. However, technology firms such as Google have sent out warnings that they may have to automatically remove more content once this directive has been implemented.
This has to do with copyright and platforms such as Facebook and YouTube already remove videos and music that are under copyright. YouTube will scan any uploaded content and see if it matches a database of files that it has of copyrighted content. The database allows the original creator to block, track or monetise the content. Under the new legislation, the tech companies will be more liable for any copyright infringements on their platforms.

Currently Generation Z is on the verge of passing Baby Boombers, Gen X, and others to become the largest segment (by percentage) of the world’s population. Marketers and retailers are already beginning to focus on this generation and how to reach out to them. Gen Z is estimated to compose of nearly a third of the global population by 2019, being about the same size but just a sliver larger than Millennials. The two combined will be about 2/3 of the world population by 2019.
Because of that, the rush to market to Gen Z is on since whoever figures out how to do this effectively will have a huge leg up on the competition who doesn’t. The oldest members of Gen Z will be just out of university or preparing to graduate from university. Moving forward by just after 2020 it is estimated that Generation Z could be up to 40% of all active consumers, making them all the more important.
What does this translate to in numbers?
Well, early estimates say it will be $44 to $60 billion depending how you measure, and as the older generations continue to age and more of Generation Z comes into the workforce, those numbers are likely to continue to grow. As usual, marketing is on top of trying to learn what moves … Continue reading >>>
